Invite a friend.
You both get free VPN time.

Share your invite code and your friend gets 60 minutes of free connection time the moment they sign up. You earn 2 to 6 hours per invite — but not until they have genuinely used the app, which is the part most referral programmes leave out. Everything is connection time on your own account: no cash, no crypto, no card, nothing to withdraw.

They get
60 min

Credited the moment they sign up with your code

You get
2–6 hrs

Per invite, once your friend really uses the app

Lifetime cap
100

Successful invites per account, about 490 hours in total

Four steps, and one of them is not instant.

1

Open Invite friends in the app

It sits on the home screen and in your account. Your code is created the first time you look at it, and it belongs to your account — so it works on every device you sign in on.

2

Send the link

The share sheet sends a link like phantomvpn.site/i/YOURCODE. If your friend already has the app, the link opens it directly with the code filled in. If not, it takes them to the right store for their device.

3

They enter it at sign-up

Under “Have an invite code?” on the sign-in screen. 60 minutes of free connection time lands on their account immediately.

4

You get paid once they use it

Not at sign-up — after they have genuinely used the VPN for 20 minutes across 2 separate days, or started paying for Premium. Then your reward is credited automatically.

What each invite is worth.

The rate rises as you invite more people, and stops at 100.

These are the current amounts. They are set on our side and can change, so the app always shows the live figures rather than the ones printed here.

The limits, before you start sharing.

None of these are buried in terms. They are the whole shape of the programme, and the first one is the one people write in about.

You are not paid when they sign up

Your reward lands after your friend has really used the app — 20 minutes across 2 distinct days — or subscribed. This is the one rule that makes the programme survivable: paying at sign-up is what turns every referral scheme into a farm, and the cost of that farming would come out of the free tier everyone else uses. If your friend installs and never opens it again, nobody is paid.

It is minutes, not money

Free connection time is credited to your Phantom VPN account. It is not cash, not crypto, and not a balance you can transfer, sell, or cash out. There is nothing to withdraw and no wallet involved.

There is a lifetime cap

100 successful invites per account, ever. Beyond that, further invites earn nothing. There is also a daily limit on how many of your invites can mature at once, which exists for the same reason as the delay.

Inviting yourself does not work

A code cannot be applied to the account that owns it, to a second address that resolves to the same mailbox, or on a device that has already claimed an invite. Disposable-email domains are blocked at sign-up on every platform.

Only brand-new accounts count

A code is applied when an account is created, not on a later sign-in. If your friend already has a Phantom VPN account, entering your code will not retroactively attribute it — though they can still apply one within a short window right after signing up.

Invite questions

How does the Phantom VPN invite programme work?

Open Invite friends in the app to get your code, then share the link. When someone signs up with it, they immediately get 60 minutes of free connection time. You are credited separately — 2 hours for each of your first 5 invites, 4 hours for invites 6 to 50, and 6 hours for invites 51 to 100 — but only once that person has genuinely used the VPN for 20 minutes across 2 different days, or has subscribed to Premium. Everything is free connection time credited to your account; nothing is cash or crypto.

When do I actually get my free time?

Once your invited friend has used the VPN for at least 20 minutes spread over 2 separate calendar days, or the moment they start paying for Premium. Until then the invite shows as pending in your invite list. The delay is deliberate and it is the main anti-abuse control: rewarding at sign-up is exactly what makes referral schemes farmable, and the bandwidth for that farming would be paid for by shrinking the free tier for everyone.

How much free time can I earn in total?

Up to 100 successful invites, worth roughly 490 hours of connection time in total if you reach the cap. The tiers rise with volume: 2 hours each for invites 1–5, 4 hours each for 6–50, and 6 hours each for 51–100. Past 100 invites, nothing further is earned. The exact amounts are set on our side and can change, so the app always shows the current figures rather than these ones.

Can I get cash instead of minutes?

No. The reward is connection time on your own account and nothing else. It cannot be transferred to another account, exchanged, or withdrawn, and no cryptocurrency is involved at any point — Phantom VPN has no wallet and no token. If you would rather not watch ads or count minutes at all, Premium removes both, from $9 a month.

Can I invite myself with a second email address?

No, and it is worth explaining why rather than just saying no. A code cannot be applied to the account that owns it, nor to an address that canonicalises to the same mailbox, nor on a device that has already claimed an invite — on iPhone and iPad that last check is enforced by Apple’s own device attestation, which survives deleting and reinstalling the app. Disposable and undeliverable email domains are refused at sign-up on every platform. Invites voided for abuse simply do not pay.

What does my friend see about me?

Your first name only, when they open the invite link — “Alex sent you free connection time”. They never see your email address or anything else about your account. Symmetrically, your invite list shows their first name and whether their invite has matured; it does not show their email, their activity, or where they connect.

Does the invite link work if my friend has not installed the app yet?

Yes. On a phone without the app, the link opens a page with the code and a button for the right store. On Android, installing from Google Play carries the code across automatically, so it is already filled in on first launch. On iPhone there is no equivalent mechanism, so the code is shown for copying and pasted at sign-up. If the app is already installed, the link opens straight into it.

Do I need Premium to invite people?

No. Free and Premium accounts can both invite, and both earn the same amounts. If you are on Premium the minutes sit on your balance unused, which matters only if your subscription later lapses — at which point they are there waiting.

Get the app, get your code.

Your invite code lives in the app, under Invite friends. Free to install on everything you own.
